BC Hydro Joins the Northwest Energy Technology
Collaborative Board of Directors
Major Canadian power company joins regional
cooperative focused on building a strong, sustainable energy
economy in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States

Seattle, WA – Dec. 2, 2004 – Ralph Zucker, Manager of Strategic
Asset Management for BC Hydro, has joined the Northwest Energy
Technology Collaborative Board of Directors.
The Northwest Energy Technology Collaborative (NWETC) is
a joint effort made up of business, government, non-profit
and educational institutions that spans five U.S. states (Washington,
Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Montana) and two Canadian provinces
(B.C. and Alberta) – a region that houses close to 300 energy
technology companies.
“We’re pleased to welcome BC Hydro and Ralph Zucker to NWETC,”
says Jeff Morris, Director of the Northwest Energy Technology
Collaborative, “Mr. Zucker offers a wealth of experience in
operating a successful clean energy enterprise. We look forward
to his leadership as we move forward in our shared goal of
building and growing the energy technology industry in the
Northwestern states and provinces,” Morris adds.
BC Hydro is one of the largest electric utilities in Canada
and one of North America’s leading providers of clean, renewable
hydropower. Mr. Zucker has been with the company since 1980
and has extensive utility experience in engineering, economics,
and strategic planning.
“I’m looking forward to working with NWETC,” says Ralph
Zucker. “As an energy provider, BC Hydro sees the strategic
significance in partnering as a collective to promote the
natural assets and industry strengths of our region,” he offers.

BC Hydro joins seven other state and regional organizations
on NWETC’s Board: Avista Corporation, ReliOn, Inc., Bonneville
Power Administration, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory,
Puget Sound Energy, Washington State Department of Community
Trade & Economic Development and the Washington Technology
Center.
