Seattle, WA - Nov. 15, 2004 - The Northwest Energy Technology
Collaborative (NWETC) is pleased to announce that NWETC Director,
Jeff Morris, is being honored with a Power Player Award from
the Western Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Energy.
Mr. Morris will receive the award at the 2004 Power Players
Recognition Reception on Sunday, November 21, 2004 at 11:45
a.m. at Qwest Field. The ceremony will take place just before
the football game where the Seattle Seahawks with host the
Miami Dolphins.
"We're pleased to be recognizing Jeff Morris for his efforts
to spearhead energy research and development in the Northwest,"
says Julie Riel, Director, Western Regional Office, U.S. Department
of Energy. "Through his work with NWETC, Jeff has shown tremendous
dedication to building strong industry partnerships in this
region," adds Riel. "These alliances build awareness regarding
the power industry's ability to be a strong economic driver
and encourage energy companies to bring new technologies to
market."
Power Players is an annual awards program hosted by the U.S.
Department of Energy, Seattle City Light, and the Bonneville
Power Administration to recognize customers, clients and partners
who have shown an exemplary commitment to energy efficiency
and renewable energy activities. Mr. Morris is being honored
for his dedication and work with NWETC to position the Northwest
as a worldwide leader in energy research and energy product
development.
Mr. Morris is one of 18 honorees who will be recognized by
the director, superintendent, or administrator from each of
the awarding organizations -U.S. Department of Energy, Seattle
City Light, and Bonneville Power Administration.
