Washington State Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development (CTED)
CTED assists in the building and sustaining of strong social, environmental and economic foundations. We work to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for all of Washington's citizens. The Housing Services, Community Services, and Local Government divisions address a wide range of issues facing communities, from farm worker housing and historic preservation, to early childhood education and growth management. The Economic Development, International Trade, Energy Policy and WorkFirst divisions address the promotion of job creation, two-way trade, economic growth, rural development and statewide energy strategy.

Energy Policy Division
The Energy Policy Division provides leadership, information, analysis and support for energy decisions that deliver an economically and environmentally sound energy future to the state of Washington and its citizens.

Energy choices lie at the heart of many of our state's most pressing economic and environmental challenges. At the same time, sound energy decisions present many of our most attractive opportunities for economic development and environmental improvement. Whether the question is the fate of the salmon or the competitiveness of our industries, the comfort of our homes or the stability of the climate, the answers are often found in the ways we produce, deliver, price, and use energy. The mission of the Energy Policy Division is to provide credible information, solid analysis, and clear policy direction to form the basis for sound energy decisions.
